On September 8, 1982, Austin Chumlee Russell was born in Henderson, Nv. He came to be known as “Chumlee.” Naturally, the moniker stuck. Sage, a brother, and Terra, a sister, are Chumlee’s relatives. Corey Harrison, the kid of Rick Harrison and the nephew of Richard Harrison, remained one of his closest pals growing up. In 1989, Richard and Rick Harrison opened the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, a short distance from the Boulevard.

First Break

He started working at the shop when he was just 21 years old. Five years had passed since Austin began working there when “Pawn Stars” made its debut.

Chumlee is renowned for his humorous antics and is currently working at the flea market desk. The show centers on the Las Vegas Gold & Silver Thrift Store and follows its daily operations. Famously, Austin persuaded a nearby Maserati dealership to sell him a $100,000 vehicle for just $85,000.

There was also the “Chum Chum Room,” which included a performer and foul pole. He invested $1.1 million in the party house in 2012.

Chumlee’s residence was searched on March 9, 2016, as part of a probe into sexual assault claims. Alprazolam, cannabis, methamphetamine, and several weapons were discovered by the authorities. Chumlee was taken into custody.  On the following day, he was freed on bail. But on May 23, 2016, 20 misdemeanor charges of narcotics and gun charges were brought against Chumlee. In return for three years of supervision and therapy, he signed a guilty plea to the criminal gun charge, unauthorized custody of a handgun, and a felony offense of illegal narcotics use.
